The Monichino family pride themselves on creating premium, handcrafted, boutique wines with minimum use of preservative. The high quality of grapes used come from the low yielding vines on the 70  acre vineyard in the Goulburn Valley. Heavy pruning and light supplementary watering of the vines enhances the natural character of the fruit and intensity in flavour, creating a full-bodied aroma and richness in the wine. Monichino Wines produces over 27 varieties of wine from crisp, refreshing whites to full-bodied reds, spritzy dessert varieties and decadent fortifieds. A specialty of the winery is the traditional Italian varietals which include Pinot Grigio & Barbera.

2015 Monichino Single Vineyard Durif

An impressive wine made from 100% Durif grapes grown on the Katunga Vineyard. Only the best quality grapes have  been selescted. Using traditional methods of hand plunging in small fermenters, the wine was then aged in new French and American oak for 18 months. the palate is smooth and well rounded ready to drink now or in10 years.

Cellaring 10 years.

Serve with Rib Eye Beef , Kangaroo or game.

2014 Monichino Cabernet Sauvignon

APPEARANCE - Purple rimmed, dark brick
AROMA - Berries, chocolate and cedar box tobacco
PALATE - Raspberry, spice & aniseed


This impressive Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in both American and French oak. The multi-faceted character of this complex nose, with its mixture of berries, chocolate, pepper and cedar tobacco box, promises well. The smooth velvety flavours of raspberry, spice, aniseed and vanilla oak live up to that promise. Cellaring potential of up to eight years. Serve with Roast Beef, Kangaroo and game.

2013 Monichino Single Vineyard Heathcote Shiraz

APPEARANCE - Medium crimson

AROMA - Menthol, raspberry & spice

PALATE - Plum, raspberry, redcurrant and menthol



The Shiraz grapes are 100% grown on a high quality vineyard in the Heathcote wine region of Victoria, handpicked by Terry Monichino, so only the best quality grapes have been slected. Using traditional methods of hand plunging in small fermenters, the wine was then aged in new French and American Oak for 18 months.

Tery Monichino is the winemaker of this medium bodied Shiraz which delivers intense menthol and berry on the nose. The wine expands further on the palate with rich plum, raspberry and redcurrant characteristics. A well balanced wine, with mouth filling flavours and a long satisfying finish.


Cellaring potential 8 years.

Serve with Lamb, goat, or duck dishes.

2012 Monichino Cabernet Merlot

APPEARANCE - Dark Ruby Red

AROMA - Blackberry, rip cherries and chocolate

PALATE - Berries, dark chocolate and spice


A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot aged in both French and American oak.The nose has charactertic blackberry, ripe cherries and dark chocolate. The smooth rich flavours of beries and dark chocoate with a hint of spice on the palate, complimented by a long lingering finish.

Match with Roast Lamb or Goat dishes

2014 Monichino Shiraz

APPEARANCE - Purple rimmed, dark red
AROMA - Charcoal, blackberry, pepper, blackcurrant
PALATE - Strong berry flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant & cinnamon


The nose beckons with blackberry, blackcurrant, cinnamon and charred wood. The palate is soft, rich and mouth filling. Fifteen months aging in American oak has enhanced the natural berry and spice of the fruit. Cellar up to 5 years or drink now with Roast Lamb, charcoal grills or kebabs.

2015 Monichino Merlot

PALATE-Cherry, plum and smoky oak

Just released our new 2015 Merlot. Made from 100% Merlot from our Katunga Vineyard. The aroma displays black cherry, ripe raspberry and plum, with a delicate tracery of mixed spices provided by the generous use of French Oak. Acids, fruit and oak are subtly combined to create an excellently balanced wine. Drink now or hold three to four years.

2016 Monichino Rose'

This is a new release Rose. A light fresh crisp style displayig flavours of Strawberrys, cherry and white peach. A wine for almost any occassion that can be enjoyed with a wide range of dishes.

Try with Risotto or a Curry, warm chicken salad or fish and chips.

Serve Chilled.
