WINEMAKERS NOTES
The Monichino Family winemakers are continuing to embrace Italian grape varietals which are gaining in popularity, especially Prosecco and Pinot Grigio.
Our chief winemaker Terry Monichino is very excited about making these wines. The winery currently grow Barbera and Pinot Grigio, both very popular wines in cellar door.
The next varietals that will be planted on the Monichino Estate will be Fiano, Vermentino and Lambrusco Maestri.
Our wine loving customers are looking for wines with interesting flavours and they love the story of where the varietals come from.
Our heritage is Northern Italian and we work with and love wine and food.
We have been producing wines for over 57 years so drop in for a free wine tasting and try the Itailan varietals.
2017 Monichino Pinot Grigio
This is another very popular Italian varietal.This wine is a fragrant, medium bodied wine.The aroma is floral with hints of stone fruits, lychees and spice, while the palate is clean, crisp and refreshing. Good Length and finish.

2015 Monichino Barbera
Barbera is an indigenous variety of Piedmont, Italy, the region Carlo Monichino is originaly from. This wine has a subtle richness of plum, cherry and liquorice and is complimented by tantalizing spices with soft mellow French oak. The flavours follow onto the palate, which has a long lingering finish.
